Cramped parking spaces criticized

Parking problems, traffic safety and urban planning were the focus of the speeches at the town hall meeting in the auditorium of lucas cranach elementary school on wednesday evening. Some citizens raised their concerns and suggestions. Before that, mayor wolfgang beiergroblein had given a review of the year that had passed since the last castle meeting in november 2018.

Emil wunder, a wheelchair user and senior citizen of the city, was the first to speak out. He criticized the fact that the train station toilets cannot be locked from the inside, that the toilet facilities in the kuhnlenzpassage are defective and that the toilet at the kaulanger cannot be used by all burghers. The woodchips in front of the rosenbergalm are difficult to use for wheelchair users.

Silke wolf-mertensmeyer suggested installing a crossing aid for senior citizens at the BRK senior citizens’ home and requested a traffic light system at the level of the traffic lights in dorfles for the exit of vehicles onto the state road, which is frequented by up to 15,000 vehicles a day.

Streets as a redevelopment trap

Heinrich zeub spoke of the urgent need for renovation of the "flugelbahnhof" road, whereupon the mayor immediately added that the road to the war victims’ settlement was also in need of renovation. Head of the main office stefan wicklein explained that many inner-city trench renovations had been held back because of the trench expansion contribution statutes that existed until recently.

Melanie bauersachs addressed the parking problems and cited the fact that the driveways and parking spaces are far too narrow in her opinion as one reason why the parking deck is little used.

Christoph muller asked whether the city had already considered a location for a planned fast-food restaurant and whether there was any inner-city planning for the design, such as a kind of master plan for businesses. Stefan wicklein called the concept "social city in bavaria" as a basis for urban development planning.

The mayor explained, in particular with regard to the fast food restaurant, that here, as with any other building application, building law criteria would be examined and a decision made by the city council.
