New government appointed under petr fiala
In the midst of the fourth corona wave, a new liberal-conservative government has taken office in the czech republic.
President milos zeman swore in cabinet ministers under head of government petr fiala at lany castle near prague. The former government had decided to make vaccination against covid-19 compulsory for all people over the age of 60 from march 2022 onwards. The new government, which stands for a course of austerity, has to ask the parliament for a vote of confidence within 30 days. In addition to fiala’s civic democrats (ODS), it also includes christian democrats (KDU-CSL), the mayor’s party (STAN), the pirate party and the TOP09 civic grouping.
